Carissa Kajenski, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Meet Carissa Kajenski, a highly skilled and compassionate psychiatric nurse practitioner. With a postmasters degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts - Lowell in 2014, and national board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Carissa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. After working in areas where patient-centered care was lacking, she opened her private practice in the summer of 2017. This move has allowed her to provide more thoughtful and meaningful psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and follow-up care. Carissa's approach to care is patient-centered, meaning she works with her patients to create a care plan tailored to their specific psychiatric concerns. With her dedication to providing exceptional mental health care, Carissa is a trusted provider for those seeking compassionate and effective psychiatric treatment.

Whether you are seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder,  or obsessive-compulsive disorder, I am here to support you on your journey to better mental health. I am a LGBTQ+ friendly provider.  With focus on adults, it allows me to offer specialized care. My treatment modality involves psychopharmacology, which utilizes medication management to help alleviate symptoms and improve overall mental health functioning.

Insurances accepted at this practice:
 

  • Optum insurance (including Harvard Pilgrim, United Healthcare, Allways, UMR and Health Plans)

  • Cigna

  • Tufts

  • Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
     

For those who do not have insurance or whose insurance is not accepted at this practice, I offer self-pay options. The cost for a full initial psychiatric evaluation, which typically lasts 90 minutes, is $300. Follow-up visits typically last 15-20 minutes and cost $125.  If you have any questions about our payment options, please don't hesitate to contact me.
